- Yasiel Puig (Los Angeles Dodgers)
Speaking of fun to watch, Yasiel Puig may be the most electrifying man in all of sports. Spring training has only just began and already Puig is making headlines with his jaw-dropping plays on defense.
Puig is an example of a baseball player who has all the talent that you could need to wind up in the Hall of Fame, but is too dumb at times to act like it. He quickly became one of the biggest names in baseball after having the most memorable first month of a career that any big leaguer has had.
Here’s just the first week:
Yeah, I know. First week. Five Games.
Puig has showed us he can be a star, and know he has told us he is ready to be. Here’s an excerpt of a Puig interview (per USA Today):
“I need to do that to continue improving in my career,” Puig told USA TODAY Sports in Spanish. “I’m sure that when Jimmy Rollins was the MVP (in 2007), he never showed up late. And you listen when guys like Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols, Robinson Cano and Adrian Gonzalez remind you that you need to set an example to your teammates by coming in early.”
This may not be the year for a Puig MVP, but you had better believe it’s coming at some point.
