Weekend Series: vs. Missouri

It’s been an up and down season so far for the Bulldogs. They had a convincing series win over Florida State three weeks ago, but followed it with three straight losses at Georgia Southern. Since the sweep, they have won six of their last seven.

The Georgia offense largely relies on junior slugger Zach Bowers. Bowers has six home runs on the season with a .514 on-base percentage.  The Bulldogs have one of the better line-ups in the SEC top to bottom. Seven of their starters have hit a home run and all of their starters are hitting above .259.

On the mound, Jared Walsh and David Sosebee have combined for a 1.02 ERA in 35 1/3 innings of work. Junior lefty Ryan Lawlor, has a 1.93 ERA in 18 2/3 innings. Interestingly enough, the Bulldogs are still trying several other arms in the rotation. They have started seven different pitchers so far.

Weekend Prediction: Georgia defeats Missouri 2 games to 1

A battle of teams looking to prove themselves in the SEC East. The Bulldogs balanced attack on offense combined with consistent pitching give them the edge. Offensively, the Bulldogs are batting .308 with a .400 on-base percentage, while Missouri is hitting just .245 with a .332 on-base percentage.
