Weekend Series: vs. Arkansas

Vanderbilt had a disappointing trip to Los Angeles last weekend. While they defeated #4 UCLA, two close losses to Southern Cal and #6 TCU left the ‘Dores with a sour taste on their way back to Nashville. In the 6-0 win over UCLA, right-handed ace Carson Fulmer, continued his dominance in the 2015 campaign. He went 6 1/3 innings, allowing just three hits. However, his control was an issue in the outing. He walked five and hit UCLA second baseman Trent Chatterton. Walker Buehler continued his comeback from elbow soreness against TCU on Sunday. On a pitch count limit, he lasted four innings while surrendering one run on three hits. Meanwhile, lefty Ryan Johnson pitched five perfect innings on Wednesday with nine strikeouts in a shutout win over Quinnipiac.

Weekend Prediction: Vanderbilt defeats Arkansas 2 games to 1

Vanderbilt’s rotation will be the difference in this series. As a staff, the ‘Dores have held opponents to a .187 average. Look for Walker Buehler to record his first win of the season.
