Weekend Series: vs. Auburn
Texas A&M proved that they can play with the big boys when they defeated #16 Houston 6-0 last Saturday. In the game, the Aggies staff held the Cougars offensive attack to just three hits.
Heading into the weekend, the Aggies are the only remaining undefeated team in college baseball. Their 18-game win streak to start the season is the second longest in school history (26-0 in 1989).
Their win streak looked all but over when they trailed Texas-Pan American 3-0 in the late innings Wednesday afternoon. However, a clutch eight inning rally and a walk-off sacrifice fly by Ronnie Gideon gave A&M a 4-3 edge in 11 innings.
Weekend Prediction: Texas A&M defeats Auburn 2 games to 1
The Aggies’ streak will come to an end this weekend against Auburn. It is incredibly hard to sweep SEC opponents, especially with the Tigers’ experienced weekend rotation.
