Nationals Option RHP Taylor Hill To Triple-A Syracuse

The Nationals made several minor roster moves this weekend.

They have optioned right-handed pitcher Taylor Hill to Triple-A Syracuse.

Hill, 26, made three appearances with the Nationals this spring. He allowed two earned runs, one homer and five hits. He also posted five strikeouts in four innings.

The team has also re-assigned pitchers Eric FornataroMitch Lively and Scott McGregor to minor-league camp.

Fornataro struggled with six earned runs in 2 2/3 innings before being demoted. Lively gave up nine runs on 11 hits in two innings. McGregor allowed three earned runs on six hits in two innings pitched.

Last year in Triple-A Syracuse, Hill went 11-7 with an impressive 2.81 ERA in 144 innings pitched to go with 86 strikeout and a 1.11 WHIP.

In Triple-A Memphis, Fornataro, 27, was 4-5 with a 2.57 ERA and 1.17 WHIP.

Lively, 28, had a 6-4 record and a 5.10 ERA with Triple-A Fresno.

McGregor has been spotty through out his minor league career. Last year in Triple-A Memphis, McGregor had a 6.34 ERA with 33 walks and 33 strikeouts.
