The rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals has not been fierce in recent memory, as the Cardinals have controlled the last few years, leading the series 22-17 over the last two seasons. However, the Cubs will look to give the Cardinals a bit more of a challenge in the future, and that will start with MLB’s Opening Night on April 5th, when club aces Jon Lester and Adam Wainwright square off at 8 P.M. (ET). The Cubs of course made the most noise this off season signing Lester and Joe Maddon, as well as trading for Miguel Montero and re-signing Jason Hammel. The Cardinals and GM John Mozeliak didn’t just sit around though, as Mozeliak went out and addressed the tragic loss of Oscar Taveras by trading for Gold Glover Jason Heyward, and filled the hole Pat Neshek‘s imminent departure left by bringing in Jordan Walden to solidify the back end of the bullpen. 2015 promises to bring a heated series between these two, now let’s take a look at how each team stacks up against the other in 2015.
