Five Bold Predictions for the 2015 New York Mets

3. Wilmer Flores Will Hit Enough

Everyone was upset when the Mets decided to not acquire a shortstop this offseason. Despite the continuing rumors of a trade for one player or another, the incumbent Wilmer Flores remained the starter from the end of last season up until the start of spring training. Now make no mistake, Flores will not remind anyone of a gold glover in the field, but he won’t be a detriment either. Plus, while being solid in the field, Flores will provide some offense to a position of the Mets haven’t gotten much offensive production from since the days of Jose Reyes. I’d expect Flores to put up numbers in the neighborhood of 15 home runs and 60 RBIs. As Mets hitting coach Kevin Long said, “The kid will do some damage.”
