Five Bold Predictions for the 2015 New York Yankees

As Spring Training winds down, there is a sense of optimism to be found in every big league city. Whether it is hype for a big prospect, key offseason additions, or hope for a deep playoff run, every fan is hoping for the best from their respective team. With that in mind, here are five bold predictions for the 2015 New York Yankees.

1) Alex Rodriguez will hit .275 with 25 homers: Rodriguez missed all of 2014 due to his PED suspension and struggled through an injury riddled 2013 season. With Chase Headley at third, Rodriguez will likely have to excel as the team’s DH in order to stay in the lineup. He has not been below average offensively, according to wRC+, since 1995, when he only played 48 games for the Mariners.  He also hit above .270 every year from 1996-2012. The power will be the question mark, as he has not eclipsed the 20 homer mark since 2010. However, he showed solid power in Spring Training with three homers in 42 AB,  and if that can carry over and he remains healthy all season, 25 is a reachable number.
