5. The Astros finish .500.
Despite everything that could go right for the Astros in 2015, this is still a team full of questions. How will AJ Hinch handle his first managerial assignment since the 2010 Diamondbacks? Will Jon Singleton earn his $10 million contract? How will this team handle the always competitive AL West? However, I like this Astros team quite a bit. They aren’t ready to compete for the playoffs, but making it to .500 within two years of losing 111 games is a testament of the rebuilding process led by GM, Jeff Luhnow and the patience of owner, Jim Crane.
Last year, Sports Illustrated proclaimed the Astros the 2017 World Series Champs, and for good reason. The good days are still ahead, and while the Astros are unlikely to make the playoffs in 2015, this may be the year the Astros turn the corner from rebuilding to contending.
