3. Awards season will be painted blue
Josh Donaldson will get first place votes for MVP. His power numbers are going to skyrocket in the Rogers Centre. It’s not crazy to say he’s going to be looking at somewhere near 35+ home runs and 100+ RBI’s. Throw in plus defence and consistency that the team hasn’t had at third base with Brett Lawrie’s injury history, along with the insulation of Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and others in the lineup, and you have a winning formula. The 2015 season will end with columns and articles of how good that trade was for the team.
The Jays will also have a player get rookie of the year votes, but not from one of their young pitchers: Devon Travis will surprise many and keep the job as starter even when Maicer Izturis is back healthy.
