Ian Kennedy of the Padres left his start in the second inning against the Giants due to a strained left hamstring. After he threw a 2-1 pitch with one out in the second he called for the trainers and promptly exited. He didn’t give up a run.

Kennedy, 30, posted a 3.63 ERA, 3.21 FIP in 201 innings with the Padres last year after spending three and a half seasons with Arizona.
