Daily Fantasy Advice: April 16th

Today is a travel day for many teams and there are only six games on today’s slate. This will make today’s advice column very light as there are not many options available. Weather does not appear to be an issue for any of the games to be played today. With all that said lets take a look at the players I like for today.

Archie Bradley vs Giants (FD:5,000 DK: 6,400)

Bradley was dominant in his MLB debut, out-dueling Clayton Kershaw and pitching six shutout innings. Today he faces the San Francisco Giants, a lineup that is not nearly as powerful as the Dodgers’. Bradley has ace potential and upside and should put up a number of dominant fantasy performances together. As long as FanDuel keeps pricing him so cheaply — lowest today — I will keep adding him to my lineups.

Also Consider: Jason Vargas, Doug Fister

Michael Morse vs Mets (FD: 3,400 DK: 3,700)

Since the slate is so thin today some guys have slightly elevated values and there are not many enticing cheap options. One guy I like is Morse, who is not exactly the cheapest but is facing Dillon Gee, who was extremely average in his first start of 2015. Gee is a decent MLB starter but I expect him to get roughed up by the Marlins and Morse should be at the center of it.

Wilmer Flores vs Marlins (FD: 2,400 DK: 3,500)

Among the really cheap options for today’s games, Flores is the most enticing to me. While his bat still has not translated to the big league level, he mashed in the minors and he has power upside. With David Wright getting injured, Flores may move up in the order and have more RBI chances. Marlins’ starter Jarred Cosart is a solid MLB arm but I think that the Mets and Flores can put up a couple runs against him.

Also Consider: Travis d’Arnaud, Christian Yelich, Steven Souza

Marlins vs Mets and Royals vs Twins

I included both teams in one line because the reasoning behind choosing these stacks are exactly the same. There are the best lineups with the best pitching match-ups. The Royals get Tommy Milone and their powerful offense should be able to have a huge game against him. Salvador Perez and Lorenzo Cain are great options but so are Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, and Alex Gordon, even with the left-on-left matchup. However, with Perez, make sure he is in the starting lineup as it’s a day game following a night game. Like I stated in the blurb on Morse above, the Marlins face Gee and I think their offense will feast on his averageness. Morse is a great option but so are basically all the Marlins, especially Giancarlo Stanton, who has yet to go yard but I think he will today. Yelich, Martin Prado, and Marcell Ozuna are also good guys to target.
