The Orioles and White Sox played a game this afternoon. The Orioles won 8-2 in Major League Baseball’s first ever closed-to-the-public contest. Jeff Samardzija now has a career 12.60 ERA in games with a paid attendance of zero, and Manny Machado had the best offensive performance in an empty stadium (slash line of .750/.750/1.750) since Tim Wallach hit three homers for the Expos on the road against the Braves on May 4, 1987.
From the get-go, you knew this was going to be a weird experience for the players and media, but it seems like everyone had fun with the strange circumstances and helped keep the mood light. Here are some of the best tweets and videos from this afternoon’s ballgame.

Caleb Joseph made sure to stick to his normal game day experience.
Chris Davis hit this monster home run in the first inning. No one caught it in the stands, because no one was there.
A ball-girl will probably collect it later. Looks like she’ll have another one to collect as well.
I’ll leave you with my absolute favorite of the day, Gary Thorne calling an Adam Jones double using a golf voice.
