661 Home Runs:
Alex Rodriguez – 660 (T-4th All-Time)
Tied with Willie Mays for fourth all-time, Rodriguez needs 55 more home runs to take sole possession of third place from Babe Ruth. However, at 39 years old, 700 may be the last home run milestone Rodriguez can reach.
500 Home Runs:
David Ortiz – 470 (32nd All-Time)
Ortiz is the greatest designated hitter of all-time and was a key component in each of Boston’s World Series runs over the last decade. In 2014, Ortiz hit 35 home runs and will need a repeat performance in 2015 to reach 500.
400 Home Runs:
Adrian Beltre – 397 (55th All-Time)
Miguel Cabrera – 396 (T-56th All-Time)
Even though Cabrera has moved to first base the last two years, both players have been two of the best hitting third basemen of the past decade. Fittingly, they will reach the 400 home run mark around the same time. Even with the steroid era, only 51 hitters have reached 400 home runs in their career.
