After Clayton Kershaw and Madison Bumgarner had spectacular seasons in 2014 for different reasons, they matched up for the third time this year already. The first two went to the Giants and today Bumgarner not only pitched well, but he took Kershaw DEEP. (Check out the Dodger fan celebrating).
Bumgarner got a 91 mph fastball from Kershaw and hit it 105 mph. The baseball traveled 415 feet, according to MLB.com.
That is Bumgarner’s seventh home run of his career and fifth since the beginning of 2014. It was also the first home run Kershaw has given up against a pitcher in his career.
Bumgarner also went 6 1/3 shutout innings with six strikeouts and two walks. Kershaw went 7 1/3 innings and gave up four runs.
The Giants swept the Dodgers, giving up ZERO runs all series.
