The Seattle Mariners and Atlanta Braves are among the roughly 10 teams interested in signing free agent catcher Erik Kratz, a source said.
Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Kratz has “lots of offers” on the table and that a decision will come sometime tomorrow.
As Cotillo noted, Kratz is searching for a major-league deal and with many teams interested in his services, it’s very possible he lands such a deal.
Kratz, 35, has been designated for assignment by both the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals this month. In only four at-bats this season, he has yet to record a hit, but he does have one RBI.
In his six-year career, Kratz has hit .217 with 23 home runs and 67 RBI.
