Suspended Mets Reliever Jenrry Mejia Moved to Triple-A Las Vegas

New York Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia will continue his trek back to the big leagues from a doping suspension in Triple-A Las Vegas.

Mejia pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts on June 29 in his first Triple-A appearance with Las Vegas, after previously pitching for the Gulf Coast Mets. He will have about a week with the 51s while he waits for his suspension to end on July 7.

Mets manager Terry Collins says that Mejia will have a spot in the bullpen when his suspension is up, but it will likely be as the setup guy as Jeurys Familia has the role of closer and is doing a fine job with 21 saves in 23 appearances so far this season.
