Ben Zobrist, everywhere except pitcher and catcher, Oakland A’s, 34 years old.

2015 stats: .258/.349/.448, 5 HR, 29 RBI (42 games)

Zobrist is having a slow offensive year thus far, but teams love versatility these days, and boy does this guy have it in spades. Plug him in practically anywhere and Zobrist will give you at least decent results. It can only be assumed that the bat will come around, and since the A’s aren’t exactly competing in the AL West, Billy Beane will be receiving calls about his super-utility man.

Potential suitors: Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, New York Mets.

Chicago is probably the most likely landing spot for Zobrist, as his former manager Joe Maddon has reportedly been making a strong push to bring the super-sub to the Windy City. Of course other teams like the Yankees have to get sick of Stephen Drew sooner rather than later, the Mets still have that whole “offense” problem, the Kansas City Royals’ Omar Infante is arguably the worst player in the league, and the Padres need some stability up the midlle of the diamond. All those factors could make for an interesting bidding war.
