Gomez was originally heading to the Mets in a trade before that fell apart because of injury and financial issues. Now Gomez is reportedly headed to the Astros to fill their center-field void.
The 29-year-old Gomez has about $3 million left on his deal this year along with $9 million for 2016. He is slashing .262/.328/.423 with a 107 wRC+, and 1.7 fWAR in 314 plate appearances.
Fiers, 30, is a fly ball pitcher who has posted a 3.89 ERA, 3.79 FIP this year in 118 innings pitched. He has struck out 121 and walked 43.
