The Kansas City Royals are signing left-handed pitcher Wandy Rodriguez, according to a source close to the club.

Rodriguez will be reporting to Triple-A Omaha.

Rodriguez, 36, played with the Texas Rangers for the first half of the year, going 6-4 with a 4.90 ERA and 72/36 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

In his 11-year career, Rodriguez has pitched for the Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates in addition to the Rangers. In those 11 seasons, he has gone 97-98 to go along with a 4.10 ERA and 1281/534 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He was released by the Rangers on August 4.
