Austin would be a free agent following the season’s conclusion where he will be looking for a new long-term contract with a team preferably in the American League having had past experience with the Detroit Tigers and the Mariners.
Jackson, 28, is currently represented by Hendricks Sports. Thus far into the 2015 season, Austin has hit .259/.302/.365 with 7 home runs and 34 RBI’s having appeared in a total of 100 games played during regular season ball.
Jackson is one of several outfielders who has been reported to have cleared trade waivers of late and it could make sense for him to join a contending team as a fourth outfielder as the postseason continues to quickly approach.
