Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has been diagnosed with upper back muscle bruises and a small crack in his left scapula after being removed from the first of two games today in New York, according to MLB.com’s Gregor Chisholm.

It is said that Tulo will be monitored by the club for the next week or so before a timetable for his return can be established. According to Sportsnet’s Megan Robinson, Troy will speak to the media tomorrow.
For those of you wondering what exactly a scapula is, it can also be referred to as a shoulder blade, which if continued to be used could seriously affect the way he plays game not just offensively, but defensively as well.
The injury occurred as a result of a collision with center fielder Kevin Pillar.
