On roles changing:

“No, not really, I think it’s the same, you show up everyday, and try to find ways to win a baseball game. You know a lot of times you might need to encourage, said Royals Manager, Ned Yost.” “I don’t need to do that here. These guys are full of confidence, full of energy.”

On Ventura in game 4:

“Ventura bounces back really well,  we wanted to have our best power arms coming at these guys,” Yost said. “It made sense to go Ventura, Cueto, Edinson – Ventura, Cueto again.” “That’s why we got Johnny, to pitch in big games. Ventura has been one of our best starters going down towards the end of the season.”

On a seeing a difference in energy:

“Not really, I don’t see any difference in the energy, or the style of play compared to last year when we had to grind it out during the last couple day of the season,” Yost said. “The players and coaches, we’re like iPhones that you plug in, the crowd energizes you, it charges your batteries,  once that game starts, you feel great.”

On approaching Keuchel:

“It was really the first time we faced him here, you can watch a lot of video, but it’s not the same as seeing him live,” said Yost. “We have the advantage of seeing him twice, we have a pretty good idea of what we’re going to see and I’m not saying we’re going to go out and attack, and I’m not saying we’re going to go out and be patient.”

Edinson Volquez has a career 6-0 record against the Astros with a 2.70 ERA.
