Major League Baseball’s 25-and-under postseason All-Star team

First base: Eric Hosmer, Kansas City Royals, current age 26.009

Regular season stats: .297/.363/.459, 18 HR, 93 RBI

Postseason stats: .212/.236/.288, 1 HR, 17 RBI

Hosmer’s line may not be the prettiest this postseason, and you’ll have to give me some wiggle room with the whole 25-and-under thing considering Hosmer turned 26 nine days ago, but bear with me. In 16 games this fall, Hosmer drove in 17 runs. He’s driven in 29 runs in his first 31 career postseason games. Those are Lou Gehrig-esque numbers. Hosmer elevated his game in the most crucial at-bats this postseason. There’s nothing spectacular about what Hosmer does on the field, but the same can be said of the whole Royals roster. It just works.
