Major League Baseball’s 25-and-under postseason All-Star team

Third base: Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs, current age 23.302

Regular season stats: .275/.369/.488, 26 HR, 99 RBI, 77 BB

Postseason stats: .176/.243/.441, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 4 XBH

Bryant was admittedly a little overmatched in the postseason, but he did homer. The New York Mets abused Bryant in the NLCS, but most of the Cubs roster suffered the same fate. It took Bryant some time to hit his first Major League homer, but once he got that out of the way, the same power potential that had baseball fans drooling was on display. Bryant has a good eye at the plate, as evidenced by his 77 walks. Getting a little more aggressive at the plate, however, could allow him to cut down on the 199 strikeouts he racked up. Bryant’s debut was worth the extra wait, and Cubs fans will be glad the front office did what it did when the extra year of team control kicks in.
