Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports has reported that Craig Kimbrel has been traded to the Red Sox.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo says that infield prospect Carlos Asuaje is heading to San Diego.

Alex Speir of the Boston Glove says shortstop prospect Javier Guerra is also going to San Diego in the trade.

Kimbrel, 27, spent just one season in San Diego after being traded away by Atlanta. He was 39 of 43 in save opportunities with a 2.58 ERA in nearly 60 innings pitched. He is due $11MM in 2016, $13MM in 2017, and has a club option worth $13MM in 2018.
