One could make the case that after former GM Dave Dombrowski traded Fister, it was the beginning of the end of the Tigers once great rotation. Fister struggled in 2015 with the Washington Nationals, seeing drops in velocity, more walks, and eventually a move to the bullpen. Fister, however, is a pitcher that has never relied on velocity and has shown the ability to get hitters out with the movement and location. Bringing back Fister to the Tigers could prove to be a cost-effective option with the tall righty trying to re-establish his value and show teams that he can still effectively pitch as a starter in the big leagues.
