Parra, who owns multiple Gold Gloves in his career, has also been linked to the Mets early in the free-agency period. The two-time Gold Glover will be 29 early next season and has a cannon for an arm. Though some defensive metrics might paint Zobrist as a better outfielder, it’s six one way, a half dozen the other. Both Parra and Zobrist are good outfielders. Offensively, Zobrist has a bit more pop and on-base ability than Parra, but if the Mets miss out on signing Zobrist, or if they want to sign Zobrist to play second base, Parra is a very good target who should be relatively inexpensive.
