The Astros could likely lose three key components to their 2015 bullpen to free agency (Chad Qualls, Oliver Perez, and Tony Sipp), so the club will have to be creative in filling those spots if that happens.
A guy who could definitely draw interest is Bastardo, who is more than just a left-handed specialist. With Perez and Sipp both being left-handed pitchers, Bastardo could help fill the void if these two players leave for another club.
Bastardo had a very good 2015 campaign, posting a 4-1 record with a 2.98 ERA. The 30-year-old has played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates, and has thrown 50+ innings in four of his seven big league seasons.
With a weak crop of quality relievers on the open market, Bastardo should draw a lot of interest from many clubs, but he could be a really good acquisition for the Astros this offseason.
