While the Jose Fernandez story and accompanying rumors have dominated the attention on the Miami Marlins organization the past week, there is another player who is even more likely to be traded by the Marlins this winter. That player is Marcell Ozuna. Ozuna just completed his third season with the Marlins, is not eligible for free agency until 2020, and has clearly fallen out of favor in Miami. With a recent quote, coming from Jerry Crasnick, saying that owner Jeffrey Loria, “Obviously can’t stand the guy,” it appears Ozuna’s days being a part of one of the brightest young outfields in all of baseball are over.
“I’d be surprised if they keep him,” one exec said of Ozuna. “Loria clearly can’t stand the guy and everybody knows it.” #Marlins

Despite his struggles and demotion last season, Ozuna is still a young player with plenty of upside as well as plenty of years left of team control. A further report by Crasnick said the Marlins were looking for young, controllable pitching in return for Ozuna. With the desire to trade him painfully evident, and the price seemingly not too high, it appears very likely that the Marlins trade Ozuna this offseason. Here are five teams that would have the most interest, or would be the most logical fit as a trade partner for the Marlins.
