Players get traded. It is a fact of life in Major League Baseball, even more so this time of year. In the offseason there are two types of trades that can happen: those that are expected and those that are unexpected. This offseason there has already been an example of each. The focus here will be on offseason trades that make sense but are very unlikely to occur this offseason. These are trade possibilities that have actually been discussed either recently or in the past in one form or another. While it is highly likely that none of these trades will happen this offseason, all five do make sense when viewed in a certain light.
