If there is one thing to be thankful for as a baseball fan this Thanksgiving, it is Bryce Harper. Seriously, the guy was voted most overrated by his peers at the start of the year, then went on to have one of the best offensive seasons in league history on his way to winning the MVP award. Along the way, Harper managed to be the most polarizing figure in the league yet again.
Harper is absolutely in the running for most entertaining players in the league, both for his play and the raw, unbridled emotion he shows at all times. That might rub some folks the wrong way, and perhaps Harper does still have some growing up to do, but he was having a breakout year at an age when most of his peers are more concerned with playing beer pong than figuring out how best to mask their emotions when talking to the media.
There are plenty of reasons to be thankful for this mohawked whirling dervish, but I’ve boiled it down to just five.
