Cook: Joe Maddon
Like managing a baseball team, any good Thanksgiving meal starts with a focused and determined cook. The cook needs to take charge and make the right moves to make the dinner go smoothly. In this case my “cook” is Joe Maddon.
Maddon led the Chicago Cubs and their young, talented team to 97 wins in 2015 and a berth in the NLCS. In his 12-year career, Maddon has won 878 games and turned the Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago Cubs into contenders.
Along with his managerial success, Maddon is also known for allowing his players plenty of freedom and has received plenty of respect from his teams past and present.
The owner of three Manager of the Year awards, Maddon is an easy choice to be the cook for my Thanksgiving meal.
