It’s that time of year again, folks.
Thanksgiving is here, and that means that it’s time for us to give thanks for the good things in our lives — family, friends, loved ones, you get the picture. There are many things for us to be thankful for, and baseball is one of those things.
As a Phillies fan, there wasn’t much to be happy about over the past few seasons. After winning the World Series in 2008, things quickly went downhill. From falling short of repeating as World Champions in 2009, to getting eliminated in the NLDS in 2011, the window of success for the Phillies quickly slammed shut. The past two seasons have served as the cold reality check that success is not always long-lasting.
Since it’s the time of year to give thanks, I’m not here to dwell on the past. I am here to list five reasons, for the Phillies fan base to be thankful come this Thanksgiving.
