Survival Guide tip #3: Ken Burns’s “Baseball”
If you have a day to waste with nothing but baseball on your mind and tugging at your heart strings, Ken Burns’s “Baseball” is a must watch.
It is a 10-part documentary that breaks down each decade of baseball into an inning form that discusses everything from baseball’s humble beginnings to major events and superstars that changed the game into what it is today.
My personal favorite is the seventh inning, “The Capital of Baseball,” which breaks down baseball in the 1950s. But every inning is worth watching and will teach you things about baseball history that every fan should know.
The documentary can be found in its entirety on YouTube, but is also available on Netflix and in somewhat regular rotation on MLB Network as well.
