1.) Atlanta Braves
Just over a year ago, the Braves turned one year of Jason Heyward into Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins. They’ve now turned one year of Shelby Miller into Dansby Swanson, Ender Inciarte, and Aaron Blair. Inciarte is a great defender in the outfield, has speed, and did hit over .300 last year. Blair should be ready for the Majors at some point this year, and went 13-5 with a 2.92 ERA last year in Double- and Triple-A. Swanson was the first overall pick in last year’s draft and played well in 22 Low-A games.
The Braves continue to rebuild with gusto, and are getting great returns on their players. Andrelton Simmons was turned into two starters with high ceilings. The Miller trade only adds to the depth of young talent in the Atlanta system. It’s going to be painful to watch the Braves at times next year, but their front office is making all the right moves.
