Starting in 2001, the Diamondbacks made some tweaks and simplified their uniforms. The front player numbers were removed but the shirt sleeve patch remained. The back of the jerseys remained the same.

The home whites dropped the stylized “Diamondbacks” script and retained the “A” chest logo as seen on the earlier alternates. This was in both the short sleeve and vest style. The road gray uniforms stayed the same, except that they were vests only.

The black and the purple alternates stayed in the Diamondbacks rotation of uniforms.

The hats remained the same as the purple “A” lid was the home and the black “D” was for the road.
