Minnesota Twins: A Vikings Super Bowl
Minnesota has not had much to cheer about recently. Between the Twins (MLB), Vikings (NFL), Timberwolves (NBA), and Wild (NHL), the city has a total of two championships, both by the Twins (1987 and 1991).
Last season, at 83-79, the Twins posted their first winning season since 2010. They have not won a postseason series since 2002 and have not won a postseason GAME since 2004, despite appearing in the ALDS in 2006, 2009, and 2010. The Timberwolves have not been to the postseason since losing in the 2004 Western Conference Finals and the Wild have been eliminated by the Chicago Blackhawks in each of the last three hockey playoffs.
The Vikings, despite not going to the Super Bowl since 1976, are putting together a solid season right now. They currently sit rather comfortably in a Wild Card slot and are only one game behind the Green Bay Packers for the division lead. With the Twins overshadowed by the Kansas City Royals in the AL Central, a Vikings Super Bowl would give the city of Minnesota something to get excited about.
The Twins are not a bad team by any stretch but they do not have the highest of expectations for the 2016 season.
