This is the inevitable landing spot for Fernandez if he does wind up being dealt. The Dodgers are looking to make a splash after losing out on Zack Greinke. Seeing him leave was rough, but the fact he went to a division rival is horrible. The Giants also restocked their starting staff with the addition of Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija. The Dodgers need to make a move and they need to make it now.

There are very few pitchers out there that have the dominance of Fernandez. His price tag is huge and the Dodgers have the talent to pay it. Reports indicate the Marlins like Julio Urias and Joc Pederson, but are holding out hope for Corey Seager. The Dodgers are not looking to deal Seager, but Peterson and Urias could be close for the Marlins.

The Dodgers have been stockpiling prospects, and could throw a few other names out there to get a deal done. Frankie Montas and Jose DeLeon could be of interest to the Marlins as well. This really does seem like the likely scenario for a Fernandez deal. The Dodgers have the talent and the need. Another name to look for is Yasiel Puig. The Dodgers are reportedly done with him, but his value is at an all-time low. Puig could definitely be of interest to the Marlins, as he would give the team a nice marketing boost with the Cuban community in Miami. Don Mattingly might not feel so great about that, however.
