Updated V-Neck: 1978-1985
On this run, the Indians decided to tone down their team’s look. The result, a pretty plain set of uniforms, like a lot of teams had in the 1980s.
The jerseys remained a V-neck but changed the front script font. On the home whites and blue alternates, “Indians” was done in an arched, straightened font. The white top font was done in navy. For the blue alternate it was white with a red outline.
Briefly the road gray said “Cleveland” in navy with red trim. By 1983, the gray was phased out for the blue top.
Chief Wahoo was placed on the left sleeve.
Cleveland went with a block “C” logo in red with white trim on a navy with red bill.
