Five New Year’s Resolutions for the Chicago Cubs

Resolution 3: Attack every defensive play as if the World Series depended on it.

There has never been a team in baseball more prepared to meet destiny. Don’t give an inch. If there is an error, or a home run, ignore it and focus on the next play. They are not as good as you are. If you dive for that ball don’t worry about missing it; the guy behind you will catch it. If you flip the ball into that double play, a glove will be there to stop it. When that line drive flies back over your shoulder, someone will already be leaping for it, because this is that year.

Play as if the team could win a Gold Glove as a unit. No matter who you are playing, no matter how far ahead, or behind you might be.  No compromise. The third resolution is to play as one.
