The Orioles are a team that are in need of some help in the outfield. They have signed Hyun-Soo Kim to presumably play left field. Center field is occupied by All-Star Adam Jones. There are quite a few questions in right field though, and there seems to be a lack of power in the Orioles lineup without Chris Davis. The Orioles have been linked to Yoenis Cespedes and Justin Upton as fallback options if Davis and the team cannot work out a deal. But, one way or another, the Orioles will find a way to add power to their lineup, whether it is an outfielder or not.
I believe that the Orioles will end up spending their money on retaining Chris Davis, and not on a free agent outfielder. Davis and the Orioles are virtually a perfect fit, the O’s are the team he blossomed with, the ballpark is perfect for his swing, and the Orioles need some left-handed thump. I don’t believe he will get the reported offer of seven years, $154 million, because his market just doesn’t seem to be that high, but I do believe Davis ends up back with Orioles.
