Where do the best free-agent outfielders fit?

Washington Nationals

The Nationals are in search for an outfielder for a few reasons. Jayson Werth’s contract expires in two years, and he has hardly been able to stay on the field since coming over from the Philadelphia Phillies. The Nationals are also not confident enough to just give the CF spot to Michael Taylor. Outside of the NL MVP over in right field, the Nationals do not have much outfield depth. There are no big-time outfield prospects in the farm system. Washington was reportedly one of the highest bidders on Jason Heyward and they have shown interest in other outfielders.

Best Fit

Gerardo Parra

Parra would be a good fit with the Nationals, firstly, because he can hit leadoff. Also, he can potentially play each of the outfield positions, and the Nationals need someone who can play center field. Parra will probably command two years with an average annual value of around $10 million. He fits well with the Nats.
