Where do the best free-agent outfielders fit?

Cleveland Indians

The Indians are currently looking for someone to take over the center field position in Cleveland. They are not in play for top guys like Justin Upton and Yoenis Cespedes, but they could look for a cheaper option on the free agent market to play center field.

Jackson would be a good fit with Cleveland because it seems like they have the pitching to win, but need to add some offense. The top of the order looks good with Kipnis, Lindor, and Brantley, but it is very left handed. Jackson, could go to the bottom of the order and provide a right handed bat that can get on base and run a little bit. He would fill center field nicely.

Some other teams were, and are, part of the outfielder market as well, include the following. The Giants were in the outfield market, until they signed OF Denard Span. The Royals were looking for outfielders as well, but after resigning Alex Gordon, they figure to be done on the outfield market. The Rangers are interested in Justin Upton, reportedly, but only on a one-year deal, so it doesn’t seem likely. And the Rockies, are pursuing OF Gerardo Parra, which might be a replacement outfielder for if they trade away one of their current ones.
