2016 NCAA Baseball Preseason Top-25 Poll Released

A day after the College Football season ended, the shot of warm weather received today was the release of the Preseason Division I Top-25 Baseball Rankings.

The Florida Gators are the number-one team to start the season. The Gators arguably have four top-10 draft prospects on the roster this season, and figure to be tough all season long.

All eight teams that made the College World Series a season ago find themselves back in the Top-25.

The defending champion Virginia Cavaliers are ranked number 13 to start this season, while the 2014 champions and last year’s runner-up Vanderbilt Commodores find themselves at number three to start.

For the Midwest and Big 10 fans, they will have to wait a few weeks before seeing any team appear in the rankings. The Big 10 is the only Power 5 Conference to not have a team ranked in the preseason poll. Last season saw Missouri State and Illinois as national seeds reach the Super Regionals along with Maryland who defeated the number one national seed UCLA en-route to the Supers. So there is hope for teams from the Midwest and from the Big 10.

The Full Rankings are:
1. Florida Gators
