Despite the calendar turning to January and the offseason being over two months old, there are still plenty of players left on the free agent market. Beyond that, there are also several players still likely to be traded, and even more players currently being shopped around. At no position is there more volatility and potential action than in the outfield.
Even with the signings of Jason Heyward and Alex Gordon, and to a lesser extent Denard Span and Gerardo Parra more recently, there are still quite a few big names still available on the free agent market. On the trade market, several Colorado Rockies outfielders and a slew of players from other teams are also available for trade for the right price. Despite it being January, there is still quite a bit of action left to be seen on the hot stove this offseason.
