This is the sleeper team that makes the most sense. The Astros have repeatedly denied that they would make Davis an offer, but they enter 2016 with Jonathan Singleton and Luis Valbuena as their primary first base options. Houston finished the 2015 season with the 29th-highest payroll in the league and should have money to spend after a playoff season. Davis is a native of Texas and should salivate over the possibility of hitting in Minute Maid Park in the heart of a powerful, young lineup. If Davis wants a return to Texas, the Astros, not the Rangers, seem to be the only potential landing spot. Of all the teams that could be viewed as sleeper landing spots for Davis, Houston seems the most likely because of their financial flexibility and young roster.
