In baseball, as with all professional sports, players get injured. It is unavoidable, and it can often torpedo a team’s entire season. Losing an impact player from the starting rotation or heart of the order puts a team in scramble-mode until a replacement can be found. When that player is a star or a face of the franchise, there is often nothing the front office can do to ease the lost production. Quite a few notable names missed significant time last season or dealt with nagging injuries for an extended period of time. With spring training rapidly approaching, these players have hopefully rested enough to enter the 2016 season feeling healthy and ready to go.
