He’s only 28 years old, but Buster Posey already has a career full of achievements. MVP in 2012, Rookie of the Year in 2010, three Silver Slugger awards. Oh, and he’s won the World Series three times. Because of that, and the fact that he’s the best hitting catcher in baseball results in Buster Posey being the best catcher in baseball. Last year he hit .318/.379/.470 with 19 home runs and 95 RBIs. Not only is Buster Posey an elite catcher, he’s just an overall elite player. He doesn’t have quite the defense or the leadership that Yadier Molina has, but it’s not like he’s a scrub in either regard. Only four passed balls with a 36-percent caught stealing rate is nothing to scoff at. The hitting, the defense and the overall package makes Buster Posey the best catcher in baseball.
