4. Can Matt Holliday bounce back in 2016?
Veteran outfielder Matt Holliday had a miserable 2015 campaign, playing in only 73 games with an awful four home runs while struggling through multiple leg injuries.
The 36-year-old will be looking to bounce back in a big way in 2016 and the team will be hoping that their big left fielder can come back in 2016 and perform a lot closer to his career average of 27 homers per season. If Holliday can bounce back in 2016, the Cardinals will find it a lot easier to replace the production Jason Heyward left on the table when he bolted to Chicago.
Holliday will first need to stay healthy, and reports are that he has been working at first base this offseason. It may be that the team just needs to give the vet an occasional break defensively, and with Tommy Pham proving he has the capability for spot starts, manager Mike Matheny may be able to afford to give Holliday a few more days off than he has gotten in the past.
